Authors Collective: Gil Kissling

Hiya! I'm Gil Kissling! The one random 15 year old guy on the side of the road with a talent for random bursts of philisophicalness and geeky conspiracy theorizing. I write–or rather want to finish–Historical/Biblical Fiction, My novel/WIP follows the story of a Caledonian girl(don't judge on the gender, my sister and fellow Author Megan Kissling was just as bad), and her struggle with self worth, battling her emotions and the sting of misplaced trust and blind love. I hope to inspire and uplift my readers to be self aware, develop healthy relationships with both their families and God, and to deal with their purpose in life. Their coming of age.

Why am I here? What difference will I make? What if I'm only a burden?

I saw one of my cousins take this road. And it was crippling to think that someone could be so miserable, and think so little of themselves to the point where they weren't worth living. Personally I've never felt the struggle to that level, especially after realizing the affects that someone else had on me. Love will keep us alive, in one form or another, sometimes when love doesnt feel present you have to find it other than where you expect its coming. Ive always seen if from family and friends. But when folks start ditching you, both family and friends, that is when you should realize that the comfort you seek can only be consistent in one area. I have faith in what I hope for and I'm convinced of the love that I cannot see.

Annals of the Domini: Suppression

Domination was always the goal. Carrying prophetic value to a society of darkness never brings true value to a girl. Without love, family or a future; Suicide lingers near. As Isolde McGregor battles the order of the Dominator, worthlessness attempts to taint her true value. Can she face her purity? Or will she Suppress herself; Become Dominated.

Suppression was a ton of fun to plot and draft! Or at least... for the most part, Im still working out big ole, ugly, nasty and rude kinks in the thing. But I do have it pretty near complete. In fact, book two should be drafted in the next month and a half! I have always been a bit of a Geek... first it was Dinosaurs and I know... who hasnt wanted to be an Archaeologist when they were little? The draw of mystery and history is sooo captivating... Then I learned too much. Dino's fell out of favor and eventually so did super fantastical things like Dragons and Magic and all of that Jazz... So if you want to be comfortable dont do research, but Normal isnt coming back, Jesus is! (buy the t-shirt in Amazon!)

Anyhow thats beside the point. My passions began with discovering physical history, that dream has faded a little bit, but now I find the ability to discover it in a new fashion through adventures that I can craft from my research. Even if I will never discover Atlantis or find the Metropolis city in Antarctica, I can get closer than most people ever will! I hope you enjoy my imaginings! If this interests you Id encourage you to test my work out! Read chapter one of Suppression free! Hopefully that will hold you over until later!

The Irish Twins Episode Ten: Hey guys, its me. The crazy 15 year old dude who is... tap dancing on the side of the road? *shakes head disapprovingly* "This monkey is still dancing and its 2026! For the love of Pete kid!" At any rate. I'm actually not on the side of the road right now. Believe it or not I'm by a cozy wood stove, sitting in front of a messy desk, listening to a writing lecture from Brett Harris, as well as the wild cries of a half dozen playful siblings waiting for the snow to...

Stories as Simulations: How Writing Lets Us Experience Alternate Realities “Reality is created by the mind, we change our reality by changing our mind.” -Plato In the quiet act of reading, something extraordinary happens. The eyes move across ink on a page and somehow the mind becomes a theater, a landscape, an entire world. We feel what isn’t happening to us. We care about people who don’t exist. We immerse ourselves in places we’ve never been, or that never could be. Stories don’t just...
