Da Map of Caledonia

Alrighty then folks. Lets cut to the cheese.

I commissioned my first piece of storyworld art... or well... paid art anyways. I still have drawings of Soldie from Paige and Nickie... but yeah. Beyond that,

I commissioned a map...

Why a map? Well, I struggle to put something down and keep it that way... So I went ahead and paid someone to make something permanent that I could reference to tell if my plots were growing too big for my own brain. Ya know... grounding and all that. Gotta give myself a basement floor or this hole will get too deep to clamber back out of. *cackles*

The other reason I paid someone is because I have no time or artistic flair. I scrambled to get an outline for this. *wink wink for those who know or catch the secret of how*

So without further ado.... THE MAPPPPPP!!! WHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Dont bother with my hooliganry in the image text there... Ummm... that wasnt me....

Yeah. Anyhow. I have a colorized version too, but this one works better for me just due to the fact that... well... the map would be grey like this anyways? I mean, of course it would be a little bit of a different color cause it would likely be on leather.... but thats besides the point.

But besides that (boy should I slow down on the rambles...), I wanted to introduce the artist!!!!

No, this is not an inteview. Just a shameless plug for a fellow writer, Author Conservatory student and exceptional cartographer... Annika Crum!

Here's her site and yeah, you can go ahead and click the screenshot(yes thats what that is) to visit her site!

And for those of you who don't trust my image(for shame, Im not that creepy.... right?)

Here's the actual link to her website. https://annikacrum.com/

Annika was a pleasure to work with and had a lot of patience for myself.(I may or may not have had to postpone a couple times due to unruly book sales that grabbed my wallet and wouldnt let go... Yeah, I already filed for abuse). At any rate. Annika was great to work with, Im very satisfied with the product and will happily go back again once I get Carthagena settled into my timeline... that and Troy... SHHHHHHH DONT TELL ANYONE, SPOILERS ABOUT... Not really. But it was fun to say regardless.

And that will be my farewell parting... I leave you with the beautiful colorized version of my map....

VOILA!

I stepped from the warmth of the fortress keep and into the freezing night, pulling my raven braid over my shoulder and the goat-skin cloak closer about my frame. I missed the sharp cornered wooden scribes’ book which usually dangled from my neck, but Kiltie had suggested it would be unnecessary. So I had left it. No stars were apparent in the sky, and yet, through a slivered gap in the cloud, I could glimpse moonlight. And then it was gone. I shivered, hurrying on my way to the watchtower...

Y’all. I think its literally been less than a year since I bought and read Brigitte Cromey’s “The Shattered Ones” and “In The Unbreaking” The two books that, along with Outsiders, really kickstarted a new portion of life for me. Giving a lot of hope and filling me with a desire to look for the beautiful things in life, to realize just how much beauty was surrounding me on the day to day, and quit longing for something more than the perfection that God has placed me in. Anyways. All that to...
