Authors Collective: Macy Wickins

Introduction To Me

Hi, I’m Macy Wickins, and I live on a 700 acre farm in Koshkonong, Missouri. I have four dogs and one brother. I play the piano and violin, and I adore reading. I’ve been doing competitive swimming since I was six years old, and I am now thirteen. I am a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, and hope to use my writing to bring others to Him.

Now that you’ve met me, I hope you can settle in comfortably and not get too blown away by any outbursts of personality and wackiness.

Danger: Explosions possible, proceed with caution!

Here is the blurb of my published book “Dehumanize”. You know, it’s on Amazon, you should go check it out…or else…

Dehumanize

Excitement is brewing in the tiny town of Kimmswick, Missouri, when native Aster Cordero returns to major swimming competition. After suffering a devastating injury while going for the Olympics the year before, she's back on the national stage, this time as a serious competitor, and quickly draws everyone's attention.

But with her abusive father's somewhat violent resistance to her swimming career, will she be able to fulfill her dreams? Aster's motivation and drive is running low, and her dream is fading, when disaster strikes. What is most important to her, might not be her beloved sport.

I have been writing since I was very little, and still have many chapters from a book I wrote when I was six called “Blooming Bears.” I am tempted to slam my head against the wall every time I read it. dramatic scream Why did it have to be so bad?! I love writing as a hobby, but I also wish to influence peoples’ lives for good and to glorify God through my work. Author is my choice of life trade, and that means you should follow my advice from earlier and go check my book out, because when I get famous, you can say that you read my very first book when it was released. Stage-whispered conversation with internal conscience:

That was too prideful.

Prideful? What’re you talking about?

Extreme hubris.

Noooooooo…

My book was published on April 30, 2025. It was the #1 new release in the Amazon Teen & Young Adult Parental Issues books and #18 overall in that same category as of May 20th, 2025, and for about a week prior. Everyone’s raving about it…well, you know, like 10 people. Seriously, go to Amazon and purchase it! And if you’re from the past, Amazon is this thing, on this other thing-a-ma-bob called the Internet, that you can shop on. Yeah, I know, mind explodes. Oh, who am I kidding, no one found my secret time travel machine I brought with me from the 1850s…wait, did I just say that out loud?!

...Whelp, I guess I’m headed back to the covered wagon. Too bad I can’t take the computer with me…Or can I?!

Have a blessed day!

The Irish Twins Episode Ten: Hey guys, its me. The crazy 15 year old dude who is... tap dancing on the side of the road? *shakes head disapprovingly* "This monkey is still dancing and its 2026! For the love of Pete kid!" At any rate. I'm actually not on the side of the road right now. Believe it or not I'm by a cozy wood stove, sitting in front of a messy desk, listening to a writing lecture from Brett Harris, as well as the wild cries of a half dozen playful siblings waiting for the snow to...

Stories as Simulations: How Writing Lets Us Experience Alternate Realities “Reality is created by the mind, we change our reality by changing our mind.” -Plato In the quiet act of reading, something extraordinary happens. The eyes move across ink on a page and somehow the mind becomes a theater, a landscape, an entire world. We feel what isn’t happening to us. We care about people who don’t exist. We immerse ourselves in places we’ve never been, or that never could be. Stories don’t just...

Writing, writing, editing, writing, writing, violin, more writing, another week of editing, writing writing…… *list starts to roll out of sight with its length* *shrugs* ok never-mind, I guess I wrote. How about y’all? What was something big that you worked on or accomplished last year? What's something that you're especially looking forward to...
