GUYS ITS 2026(belated post)*wink wink*

Irish Twins Episode Nine:

GUYS ITS 2026 CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! LIKE WHERE HAS THE YEAR GONE?? *looks at long overview of what i did last year* ….oh…. Writing, writing, editing, writing, writing, violin, more writing, another week of editing, writing writing…… *list starts to roll out of sight with its length* *shrugs* ok never-mind, I guess I wrote.

How about y’all? What was something big that you worked on or accomplished last year? What's something that you're especially looking forward to working on this year?

Ok, anyways, gotta write an actual article, so yeah. Last time I think I ranted about our farm the whole time, I have no clue if anyone actually enjoyed that but y’know, this time… y’know what, I’m just gonna dump random stuff on you cause while Gil might have six articles prewritten i’m winging these things every other weeks so for starters:

CWW IS COMING UP ON JANUARY 5-13TH! So, the writing community I ended up joining, YWW, hosts a free, week-long writing challenge (there is an editing one sometime during the year too) that's open to anyone. I’ve already sent the sign up link to a few friends but now I’m giving all of y’all the link for if you’d like to join! It's really fun, the community is great, the prizes are hilarious and it's all around super encouraging and motivating!

I GOT TO GO BOOK SHOPPING WITH MACY WICKINS AND ENDED UP SPENDING LIKE 70 BUCKS, BUT Y’KNOW, ITS BOOKSSS!

So, I ended up getting ‘The Lost Prince’ at Barnes and Nobles, then ‘Swipe’ ‘The Book Thief’ and ‘Prophet’ from a bookstore called Redeemed. Okay, well, I thought that was going to be my entire book haul for the day… until we stopped at PowerFlex (a rotational grazing fence place) and I ended up spending almost 50 bucks on the last two books written by a guy who has figured out how to raise grass fed, parasite free sheep and cows…. So… yeah, they were 25% off so i couldn’t pass that up anyways, that was my book haul for the other dayyy!

HELP ME, JAXTON IS TOO FUN TO WRITE IN MESSES. *dramatic sigh* I’m struggling to write him with anything that involves the word “happy”. I mean, I know it’ll come but like… I’m about 25k into the rewrites and they still have a lot of sadness to go through. What do you do, he will just have to endure. So will I actually, right now I’m supposed to be writing a snippet with Jaxton being 80% happy in trade for a Ydubs friends villain don’t ask, getting to be 80% happy in a snippet and lets just say it's rather… difficult. Oh well, anyways, here's a snippet of my latest writing:

Every time I thought life couldn’t get any worse, it seemed to make it its personal mission to then get way worse.

One of these times it might be nice to not have that happen.

Just once.

That's all I was asking.

“Well isn’t this wonderful. So kind of you to drop in for the reunion, princess.” Kazamir bowed in absolute pretense, a smile flitting across his face. “Won’t you sit down.” He motioned to the seat—

I froze, sitting straight up as Kazamir pointed at the seat beside me.

My throat went dry.

The salt, he knew exactly how to make things miserable.

I didn’t dare turn around again, even if everything in me wanted to look at her. How old was she now?

Sixteen?

Almost seventeen?

Something like that.

Last I saw her she was… she was about Cedar’s age.

I didn’t realize I’d started shaking again, until I tried to pick at the leather straps of my bracer and it took me much longer than it should to catch the loose piece in my grip.

There was no movement whatsoever behind me.

There was hardly any noise, for heaven's sake.

Only panicked breaths, mingled with what sounded like someone trying not to cry.

I wanted to disappear.

Forever.

I also wanted to turn around to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

Was she seriously here?

Or was it just a hallucination?

I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was, I knew I’d end up going insane sooner or later.

But if that was a hallucination, then this whole…thing, would also be a hallucination.

I hesitated.

And then began desperately hoping that I was hallucinating.

Yeah, it's been quite fun figuring out how to fix all the plot holes and all those problems from my first draft. Thankfully I do feel like I'm finally improving so that's good at least!

Ok, well, i seriously don’t know what else to put here except for maybe a goal list for the next year, so here it is and farewell till next time!

  • First and foremost, I want to keep building my relationship with God, dive deeper into His word and all around, just improve in all of the areas in my life that need work.
  • As a close second to that though, I would like to finish my current mc's four book series and maybe start my second mc's series. in other words improve my writing
  • I want to maybe, as long as I am ready for it, try to find an agent if I end up sticking to my current decision of going trad for publishing.
  • BUY MORE BOOKS.
  • Scream at Allie, if you know, you know, to hurry up and finish more Protectors, and also DOTA and yeah, basically all of her books so we can get copies and have her sign them for us.
  • Scream at people in general, i think this year i've slightly failed in my mission to do that. Like, the fact that i can count on my fingers who I've screamed at this year is disturbing.
  • Work even more on my music/violin. I've really enjoyed starting violin back up this year and I'm excited to see what i can do next year!
  • Kinda random and odd, but I want to write an entire book/novella on paper this year.
  • BUY SOME DEXTERS/RED DEVONS/IDK FOR SURE WHAT BREED I WANT, BUT SOME SORT OF DAIRY COW FOR THE HAND MILK TRAINING BUSINESS I'M PLANNING TO START.

Stories as Simulations: How Writing Lets Us Experience Alternate Realities “Reality is created by the mind, we change our reality by changing our mind.” -Plato In the quiet act of reading, something extraordinary happens. The eyes move across ink on a page and somehow the mind becomes a theater, a landscape, an entire world. We feel what isn’t happening to us. We care about people who don’t exist. We immerse ourselves in places we’ve never been, or that never could be. Stories don’t just...

Hollow and Silent as the grave it’d become, save for the vague and unfamiliar whirring of electricity, the soft blast of air from a system that warmed the room, and the constant ticking of a grandfather clock by the fireplace. The rest of the room was neat except for the toys spread over the carpeted floor in front of the fire hearth. Couches were pushed back, leaving a wide space for the children that used to play there. To one wall, shelves were packed with books, thick and thin volumes and...

Irish Twins Episode Eight: Does anyone have that deep parental affection for their characters? Heh heh heh, if its rare then I must be very lucky cause I got it bad. I cant look at this mood board without being suddenly super happy and melty. Like, that feeling you get when you really wanna give someone a hug. And more often than not, that gets overrun by the realization that I cant, even when Isolde and the other characters are suffering bitterly. A writers life you know? You cant give the...
